2021 Pella in Pink Virtual Half Marathon

Run

Pella Regional Health Center recently issued the following announcement.

Pella in Pink, an annual Run/Walk, presented by Pella Regional Health Center Foundation, will look different again this year due to COVID-19. The event will be a virtual half marathon where participants run or walk a total of 13.1 miles between October 1-20 and log miles. Mileage logs turned in by October 22 will be entered in a drawing for fabulous prizes! The goal of this event is to raise awareness of breast cancer and support our expanding breast health program at Pella Regional.

Our breast health program helps women access essential screening, diagnostic and treatment services close to home at Pella Regional Health Center. Past support for Pella in Pink has helped us offer digital mammography, breast ultrasound and bone density services in a comforting environment. Recently we began to offer surgical treatment and breast reconstruction under one anesthesia, through a partnership with our general surgeons and a specialist in plastic surgery. Our goal is to broaden the offerings locally to include advanced breast MRI, genetic testing options and coordinated care through the entire journey. Your participation can directly impact women in need of breast care service in our area.

Register online at PellaHealth.org/pink or fill out a paper form at Pella Regional’s Information Desk (Entrance 1). Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for youth under age 12. Participants who sign up by September 1 are guaranteed a long sleeve shirt. Shirts will be available for pick up on Tuesday, September 28 from 4–5:30 pm at Pella Regional Main Entrance.

For more information, contact the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation at 641-621-2358.
