Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, serving Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, issued a series of tweets recently discussing a range of legislative and personal matters. The tweets, dated April 3 and April 4, 2025, cover her involvement in veterans' affairs, a tribute to a victim of crime, and new legislation aimed at boosting economic investment.

On April 3, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks shared her office visit with K9s for Warriors, expressing pride in cosponsoring a bill: "It was great having @k9sforwarriors in my DC office! I'm proud to be a cosponsor of the Service Dogs Assisting Veterans Act, legislation that would require the VA provide funding to train & pair lifesaving service dogs with veterans in need." This legislation seeks to allocate resources to aid veterans by pairing them with trained service dogs.

On April 4, 2025, another tweet was posted in memoriam: "Rest in Peace, Nate Baker Nate was a beacon of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. Tragically, his life was taken in a hit-and-run by a previously deported illegal alien wanted by ICE. This tragedy, like Sarah Root's, is why we fought for Sarah's Law. It allows ICE..." This message honors Nate Baker, whose life was cut short in a hit-and-run incident related to immigration enforcement challenges.

Later that day, Rep. Miller-Meeks announced the success of her legislative efforts with the ONSHORE Act: "I'm proud to have had my bipartisan ONSHORE Act signed into law. By exploring onshoring opportunities, this legislation will bring historic investments and create jobs in areas like the Quad Cities, which I proudly represent!" The ONSHORE Act aims to stimulate economic advancements and job creation, particularly focusing on areas like the Quad Cities.
