City of Norwalk issued the following announcement on Dec. 18.
On Tuesday (earlier this week) the WRA conducted a project within their treatment plant. This work requires sewer diversion and use of the force main that runs through West Des Moines and Norwalk. The WRA stated that the project required diversion for 10 hours. There were odors due to this work. There will also be a shut down Tuesday, December 29th for the same project. Further, the WRA stated there will be approximately six more projects of similar type as we move through the Spring of 2021.
The WRA sent this notice to the City via email but unfortunately we did not see the correspondence until after the initial project. We will work to improve these notices as the WRA continues their projects. We apologize for the delay in communicating with our citizens and adjacent neighbors.
