Gov. Kim Reynolds made an announcement on March 23 that the state would be launching the new Iowa Small Business Relief Program.
According to the Marion Tribune, the new program will contribute financial assistance to any small businesses that have been impacted financially by the coronavirus crisis.
The program offers small businesses that qualify grants that range from $5,000 to $25,000. Additionally, the program is offering Iowa businesses a "deferral of sales."
Reynolds said that small businesses are the source of pride throughout the State of Iowa. She also said that the program is the state's way of supporting small businesses as the country is held captive in the grip of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Small businesses are the source of thriving main streets and community pride across Iowa,” Reynolds said. “The Small Business Relief Grant Program is another way we can support our small businesses during this unprecedented time.”
While the program offers financial assistance to small businesses, the program will also offer tax assistance as well.
