Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 1st district, shared her perspectives on various issues through a series of tweets. She replaced former U.S. Congress member Dave Loebsack in 2021 and has been active in both state and national politics since then.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks tweeted about her stance against tax increases and government spending advocated by "the radical left." She emphasized her commitment to reducing taxes for Iowa families and small businesses while ensuring the protection of Medicaid for vulnerable groups including children, pregnant women, and people with disabilities. The full tweet can be accessed here.

Later that day, she expressed appreciation for Ron Knoche from Iowa City who visited Washington D.C. as part of an event organized by @APWATWEETS. Rep. Miller-Meeks had previously honored Knoche on the House floor for his contributions to public works within their community. Her tweet acknowledging this visit is available here.

On May 21, 2025, she highlighted a significant reduction in border crossings under the current administration but noted that more work remains to be done. She outlined components of what she referred to as "The One Big, Beautiful Bill," which aims to complete the border fence, fund additional ICE agents, expedite the removal of violent illegal aliens, and enhance border technology. Details of this proposal were shared in her tweet here.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has been serving in Congress since 2021 after previously holding a seat in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she graduated from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976.
