Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 1st district, has recently shared her views and initiatives on social media. Her posts highlight significant issues ranging from education to healthcare and veteran support.

On May 6, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks expressed gratitude towards educators on Teacher Appreciation Day by acknowledging their dedication and impact on future generations. She stated, "Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to the educators who show up every day, lead with purpose, and shape the future of our country. Your work matters, and we’re grateful for all you do."

Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding the safety of healthcare workers amidst increasing violence against them. In a tweet posted at 14:13 UTC, she announced her legislative efforts to combat this issue through a bipartisan initiative: "Healthcare workers are facing rising violence—and it’s unacceptable. I introduced the bipartisan Save Healthcare Workers Act with @RepDean to protect hospital staff from assault and intimidation. No one should fear for their safety while saving lives."

Further advocating for veterans' welfare, Rep. Miller-Meeks tweeted about leading H.R. 1969—No Wrong Door for Veterans Act—at 15:49 UTC on May 6th. This act aims to enhance access to mental health care and provide necessary athletic prosthetics for amputee veterans: "I’m proud to lead H.R. 1969, the No Wrong Door for Veterans Act. It reauthorizes the Fox Grant Program to expand access to life-saving mental health care, and ensures amputee veterans get the athletic prosthetics they need to stay strong, active, and healthy."

Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 after previously serving in the Iowa Senate from 2019-2021.
