Later that day, she announced the passage of her bill aimed at reinforcing domestic manufacturing capabilities. The bill, H.R. 1721, titled Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act, seeks to reduce reliance on China and boost local employment. Mariannette Miller-Meeks was born in Herlong, California, in 1955 and has a nursing background, having earned a BSN from Texas Christian University in 1976. Before serving in the U.S. Congress, she was part of the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021.
