Congresswoman Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., has shared a series of statements highlighting key policy positions and events in recent days. Her posts touch upon energy security, international economic relations, and local industry priorities. Miller-Meeks has been serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Iowa’s 1st District since 2021, and highlights issues crucial to both her district and national interests.

On April 8, 2025, Miller-Meeks expressed her support for the coal industry, describing it as "vital to our energy security, providing low-cost, affordable energy for many families and ensuring a consistent base load". She emphasized the importance of supporting this sector and thanked the President for taking executive actions favorable to the industry.

The following day, April 9, 2025, she commented on international economic dependencies, arguing that "every time we rely on China, we weaken our own economy." Miller-Meeks called for reducing reliance on foreign adversaries and increasing investment domestically.

Later the same day, Miller-Meeks shared about a "great meeting with @IowaMotorTruck to discuss their priorities and operations in Iowa." She highlighted the significant role of the trucking industry in Iowa, noting its contribution of over 108,000 jobs and its involvement in moving a substantial percentage of the state's manufactured goods.

Miller-Meeks, a former member of the Iowa Senate, was born in 1955 in Herlong, California, and currently resides in Le Claire, Iowa. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Christian University in 1976 and remains a significant political figure in Iowa's 1st District.
