Mariannette Miller-Meeks addresses mental health and celebrates local achievements

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared a series of tweets on March 25, 2025, addressing mental health legislation for correctional officers, congratulating a local athlete, and discussing financial sector challenges with constituents.

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks highlighted the critical issue facing correctional officers: "Correctional officers are 7 times more likely to die by suicide than the general population. This has to stop." She emphasized her leadership in advancing legislation aimed at providing essential mental health support for these officers, many of whom have military backgrounds.
