Miller-Meeks introduces bipartisan bill supporting veterans' medication access

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, has been active on social media discussing her recent legislative activities and efforts to support veterans and maintain government operations.

On March 11, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks highlighted her introduction of bipartisan legislation aimed at expanding access to medications for veterans. She emphasized her understanding of the importance of this issue as both an Army veteran and physician: "As an Army Veteran and physician, I understand how crucial it is for our nation's heroes to have access to the medications they need. That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation to expand veterans' access to life-saving treatments."

Later that day, she shared her determination to participate in a crucial vote despite traffic delays: "Traffic won’t stop me. On my way to vote to keep the government open."

In another post on March 11, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks expressed her support for keeping the government operational by voting alongside President Biden while criticizing Democrats who voted otherwise: "I just stood with @POTUS and voted to keep the government open, while 212 Democrats voted for a shutdown. By passing this CR, we protect our military with the largest pay raise in four decades, increase the veterans toxic exposure fund by $6 billion, uphold critical services…"
