Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared her thoughts on several important topics through social media posts in late January 2025. The tweets addressed issues ranging from Holocaust remembrance to school choice and a recent executive order.
On January 27, Rep. Miller-Meeks marked Holocaust Remembrance Day by emphasizing the importance of remembering the atrocities committed against six million Jewish people during World War II. She stated, "On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the memory of the 6 million Jewish lives lost. Their pain and loss remind us of the dangers of unchecked hate and tyranny. Let’s ensure we never forget the lessons of history."
The following day, January 28, she expressed support for National School Choice Week by highlighting parental involvement in educational decisions. She tweeted, "During National School Choice Week, I'm proud to stand firm in the belief that parents know what's best for their children. School choice empowers families, promotes competition, and ensures every child has access to the quality education they deserve."
On January 29, Rep. Miller-Meeks voiced her backing for an executive order issued by President Biden concerning children's safety from irreversible harm. Her post read: "I fully support @POTUS's executive order to END the mutilation of children. This dangerous agenda has no place in America. We must stand strong in defense of our kids and ensure they are protected from irreversible harm."
