Three New Police Officers Sworn In

The Davenport Police Department and the City of Davenport introduced Davenport’s three newest Police Officers to the City Council and the community. Mayor Matson officially swore Officers Alexander Dunagan, Emmanuel Lopez, and Ian-Anthony Johnson into their new positions in front of family and friends.

These three officers started with the City of Davenport in August of 2022 and graduated from the 16-week Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. After completing their post academy training, these officers are entering their 20-week Field Officer Training Program where they will receive hands on training to prepare them to serve our Davenport community.Police Officer Alexander DunaganAlexander Dunagan was born in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Des Moines East High School in 2014. In 2015, he moved to Davenport to attend Black and Brave Wrestling Academy. In his free time Alexander enjoys traveling and playing sports.Police Officer Emmanuel LopezEmmanuel Lopez was born in Iowa City, and grew up in West Liberty, Iowa. He moved to Arlington, Texas in 2013 and graduated from Arlington High school in 2017 where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Emmanuel earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Coe College where he also played football for four years. In Emmanuel’s free time he enjoys physical fitness, golfing, and watching sports on tv.Police Officer Ian-Anthony JohnsonIan-Anthony Johnson was born in Boulder, CO. He grew up in East Moline, IL and graduated from United Township High School in 2017 where he swam competitively and played in the symphonic band. Ian studied Law Enforcement at Western Illinois University for three years and was a short distance sprinter in college. In his free time, he enjoys writing and performing music as well as rock climbing.
