Pella Regional Welcomes First Baby of 2023

Pella Regional Health Center’s first baby of 2023 is a little girl, Willow Faith Meyers, born at 11:57 am on Jan. 1. She weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her parents are Megan Clowser and Zachery Meyers from Knoxville. The delivering doctor was Dr. Craig Wittenberg and Brandi Asplin, RN, was the labor nurse. 

While Willow is Pella Regional’s first baby in 2023, there were 579 babies delivered at Pella Regional Health Center in 2022. August was the busiest month for deliveries. There were 291 girls and 288 boys. The heaviest baby was 10 pounds 9 ounces and the longest baby was 22 3/4 inches.

The most popular names for boys and for girls included:

Boy: Elliot, Henry, Jonah, Walker and William

Girl: Olivia and Paisley

Pella Regional’s family of medical clinics offers 10 family practice physicians who also practice obstetrics to serve their growing service area in providing prenatal care, delivery and care of the newborn after delivery. These physicians include Spencer Carlstone, MD; Garrett Donaldson, MD; Anne Hellbusch, DO; Cassandra Lanning, DO; Lucas Mihalovich, DO; Richard Posthuma, MD; Daniel Rowley, MD; Tereasa Van Zee, DO; Craig Wittenberg, MD; and Elizabeth Wooster-Pierson, MD.
