Mammography services at Pella Regional Health Center recently received a Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) Inspection by the Iowa Department of Public Health and all areas reviewed were found to be in compliance with the standards. This certification is recognition of the program’s commitment to continuous improvement and is a true testament to the high quality of care that is provided.
The Breast Care Program team members, including radiologist Dr. Alison Smith, Susan Veenstra, Quality Assurance Coordinator and the Medical Imaging Technicians, are instrumental to offering this high quality service to patients close to home in Pella.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October we remind women to take care of themselves and schedule a screening mammogram. Our providers and staff at Pella Regional Health Center are inspired by prevention. We believe early detection of breast cancer is important as it increases a woman’s chance of survival. Women can get their low dose 3D mammogram for breast cancer screening right here, close to home in Pella. Clinical studies have shown that a 3D mammogram is more accurate, finding serious cancers 40% earlier. To schedule your 3D mammogram at Pella Regional Health Center, call 641-628-6620.
