Pella Regional Health Center is proud to announce that Amber Clark-Van Ryswyk, BSN, in Emergency is the recipient. The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration that these nurses give to their patients.
Excerpt from Amber’s nomination:
“Amber is a certified emergency nurse who responds to Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit, and Emergency Department rapid response calls. On one particular day, the Emergency Department was called and requested the physician to respond to the Family Birthing Center for a neonate call. Amber came with the physician and was immediately welcomed and became part of the code team. She displayed kindness, professionalism, compassion, and empathy to family present. Amber has many other examples showing her knowledge, skills, and compassionate heart. She is a nurse who goes above and beyond to make a difference in others’ lives.”
Clark-Van Ryswyk received a certificate that reads: "In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people." She was also given a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
