Of the 16,148 people living in Madison County in 2020, 50.2 percent (8,108) were women and 49.8 percent (8,040) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South DSM News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 146. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,453 females and 1,337 males.
