HIRTA is excited to announce for the first time, we will begin to operate a vehicle exclusively in Norwalk. We are offering FREE rides all month long to our Norwalk riders to encourage residents to ride HIRTA.

Beginning on March 1st, HIRTA will be operating in the City of Norwalk. During our early stage, we will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am – 4pm. A one-way trip in town is $2.50, making HIRTA an affordable transportation option for all.

To guarantee a ride, schedule with at least 24 hours in advance. Rides can be scheduled by calling 1 (877) 686-0029 or by emailing erides@ridehirta.com. Riders can also contact us to set up the Amble App to schedule, pay or cancel their trips on their smartphone.

Riding HIRTA is simple and anyone can do it. Start by scheduling a trip described above. Then, be ready to go 10 minutes prior to your pickup time. Finally, board the vehicle, pay the fare, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

For those needing more instruction, our travel training program might be right for you. Participants in our Travel Training program are taught how to safely and independently use HIRTA. Travel Training may be done in person or virtual and in a group or one-on-one. Regardless of which training path is chosen, each training will specifically be tailored to best suit your needs. We'll work with you to figure out which training method is best suited for you. For more information, visit www.RideHIRTA.com/TravelTraining.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) federal mask mandate for public transit requires riders and drivers to wear a mask through 3/18/2022. Failure to comply will result in denial of boarding or removal, and may result in penalties.

HIRTA's Executive Director, Julia Castillo, says, “We look forward to bringing service to Norwalk and we encourage people to try us out and see how easy it is to ride. Transportation is a lifeline in our communities, providing easy and affordable access to services, groceries, employment, healthcare and social opportunities. HIRTA is open to everyone, anyone can ride. We can get you there."
