Pella Regional Welcomes First Baby of 2022

Pella Regional Health Center recently issued the following announcement.

Pella Regional Health Center’s first baby of 2022 is a little boy, Jude Thomas Foughty, born at 8:06 am on Jan. 3. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 ¼ inches long. His parents are Lauren and Brendan Foughty from Pella. Jude also has a proud big sister, Hadley. The delivering doctor was Dr. Anne Hellbusch and Brandi Hoksbergen, BSN, was the labor nurse.

While Jude is Pella Regional’s first baby in 2022, there were 587 babies delivered at Pella Regional Health Center in 2021. March was the busiest month for deliveries. There were 276 girls and 311 boys. The heaviest baby was 10 pounds 10 ounces and the longest baby was 22.5 inches.

The most popular names for boys and for girls included:

Boy: Jackson

Girl: Ava

Pella Regional’s family of medical clinics offers 10 family practice physicians who also practice obstetrics to serve their growing service area in providing prenatal care, delivery and care of the newborn after delivery. These physicians include Spencer Carlstone, MD; Rebecca Dykstra, DO; Anne Hellbusch, DO; Cassandra Lanning, DO; Lucas Mihalovich, DO; Richard Posthuma, MD; Daniel Rowley, MD; Tereasa Van Zee, DO; Craig Wittenberg, MD; and Elizabeth Wooster-Pierson, MD.
