5

Pella Regional Health Center recently issued the following announcement.

Pella Regional Health Center is proud to announce that Megan Murphy, RN, at Pella Regional Medical Clinic-Ottumwa is the recipient. The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration that these nurses give to their patients.

Excerpt from Megan’s nomination:

“Megan immensely deserves the Daisy Award. She is willing to help out in all departments and answer questions with tact and patience. Megan is constantly helping with questions, problems, and inquiries. She is often seen working in one pod and then jumping to help another co-worker in another pod. She is a very valuable team player. We appreciate her knowledge and kindness as well as her willingness to help out. Megan exemplifies what it means to be a Daisy Award recipient!”

Murphy received a certificate that reads: "In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people."  She was also given a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
