The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce & Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Marion County are partnering together to bring you Social Media Marketing 101.

This 3-part, hands-on training for small businesses, non-profits and government agencies will focus on the importance of social media in reaching and engaging a target audience.

Utilizing Facebook for Business as a model, attendees will learn some of the quick, easy, and inexpensive ways to amplify messaging and build an online following.

Participants will:

  • Learn some tips of the trade when it comes to Facebook advertising.
  • Create and/or optimize a Facebook Business page as well as learn how to promote pages, posts, and events.
  • Learn how to analyze the effectiveness of a promotion.
Training will take place over three consecutive weeks from 8-9 a.m. All sessions will be held at the Marion County Extension Office (210 N Iowa St, Knoxville). Sessions dates are:

  • Tuesday, October 19
  • Tuesday, October 29
  • Tuesday, November 2
The training is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. Registrants will need to bring a laptop for the second and third sessions.
