City of Indianola issued the following announcement on August 23.
An active learning opportunity for the citizens of Indianola, Iowa. The Indianola Citizens Police Academy is seeking 12 Indianola residents who have a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest in learning about the operations of the Indianola Police Department.
There is no cost to participate, only your commitment to two, four-hour sessions over a two-week period. Citizens will learn patrol techniques, implicit bias training, firearms instruction, investigations, response to resistance, defense tactics, and force continuum.
