City of Norwalk issued the following announcement on Dec. 24.
Congress has passed a $900 billion pandemic relief package, attached to a $1.4 trillion spending package to fund the federal government through Sept. 30, 2021. The legislation has been sent to President Trump for his signature.
The legislation includes additional funding and more flexibility of the Paycheck Protection Program, most notably inclusion of 501(c)6 organizations, allowing chambers of commerce to apply should they meet eligibility requirements. Additionally, funding specific to independent live venues, theaters and cultural institutions was included, more funding for the Economic Impact Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, pandemic unemployment benefits and airports, among other types of organizations.
