Cost of college went up for all students at Simpson College

Tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at Simpson College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $39,144 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,481 more than the $37,663 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 296 students received grants or scholarships totaling $7.8 million and 213 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,444), 1,347 students used grants or scholarships totaling $31.8 million, and 1,013 students took out $7.2 million in federal student loans.
