Pella Regional Health Center issued the following announcement on Aug. 10.
Pella Regional Health Center has become a milk collection depot for Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa. A milk collection depot is a drop off site for breastmilk from mothers that have previously been screened through the Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa.
Donations to the Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa are helping other babies (many who are vulnerable, fragile, sick, born prematurely), satisfy their hunger and save their lives.
In 2019, 89% of the milk donated to the Iowa milk bank was dispensed to 56 hospitals in 12 states. Donations are valuable beyond words and vital to the health and well-being of babies across the nation.
If interested in donating breastmilk to the Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa, please call Pella Regional’s OB department at 641-628-6613 or Lactation Services at 641-780-9857 for more information.
