City of Knoxville issued the following announcement on Jun. 6.
THRIVE Knoxville is postponing 4th of July activities this year, but the City of Knoxville will still hold this year’s fireworks display on Friday, July 3rd at Knoxville Airport.
The City received positive feedback about last year's display at Young's Park, but to encourage social distancing this year's display will return to the Knoxville Airport. We hope that conditions will allow for a return to Young's Park for future displays.
For everyone’s safety, we are asking community members not to park on Highway 14. We encourage everyone to safely enjoy the fireworks display and to follow all federal, state, and local safety recommendations related to the current pandemic.
We look forward to a time when the community can safely gather together again.
