Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared insights from recent meetings she attended with key organizations in Iowa. The congresswoman has been active in discussing policies related to tax, energy, and job creation.

On May 15, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks tweeted about a meeting with the Iowa Society of CPAs where they discussed “tax policy and ways to grow the next generation of accounting professionals.” She emphasized that “supporting Iowa’s small businesses starts with a strong workforce.”

In another post on the same day, she reported having met with Fuel Iowa to address issues concerning “year-round E15 and trucking issues impacting fuel transport.” She affirmed her commitment to advocating for “homegrown energy and the infrastructure that powers Iowa.”

Later that day, Rep. Miller-Meeks shared details from her discussion with the Alliance for Chemical Distribution about supporting the reauthorization of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act and job creation efforts. She expressed appreciation for engaging directly with Iowans and highlighted interactions with leaders from Harcos Chemicals in Davenport and Hawkins Inc. in Camanche.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks was born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently resides in Le Claire. She has served as a member of Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 after previously serving in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021.
