In her first tweet of the day, Rep. Miller-Meeks highlighted recent legislative accomplishments in Washington, D.C., including efforts to support law enforcement and honor veterans. She also mentioned advancing President Biden’s “Big Beautiful Bill” out of the Energy and Commerce Committee. “From passing legislation that supports our law enforcement and honoring our veterans, to advancing @POTUS’s Big Beautiful Bill out of the Energy and Commerce Committee — here’s your Weekly Wrap from Washington, D.C.!” she wrote.
Later that day, Rep. Miller-Meeks expressed opposition to certain policies regarding taxpayer-funded surgeries for minors and Medicaid for undocumented immigrants while advocating for President Biden’s proposed bill. ” No more taxpayer funded sex-altering surgery for minors No more Medicaid for illegal immigrants No more handouts for non-disabled adults who can work but won’t No more tax increases on families & small businesses Time to pass @POTUS’s ‘ONE BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL!'” she stated.
Finally, Rep. Miller-Meeks paid tribute to Wendy Wintersteen’s long-standing service at Iowa State University. She praised Wintersteen’s contributions to student success and leadership in various research fields at the university over four decades. “President Wendy Wintersteen has dedicated more than four decades to Iowa State University and her legacy speaks for itself.”
Mariannette Miller-Meeks was born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently resides in Le Claire. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976.
