Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared several updates on March 18, 2025, through her social media platform. Her posts addressed key issues including agriculture and healthcare.

In a post celebrating Ag Day, Rep. Miller-Meeks expressed her support for American farmers and ranchers. She stated, “Today, we celebrate Ag Day by honoring the farmers and ranchers who drive our economy and feed our nation. Agriculture is the backbone of America, and I’m proud to stand with those who make it all possible. Their hard work and dedication are vital to our future.” This tweet was posted at 14:29 UTC.

Later that day at 16:45 UTC, she addressed concerns about prescription drug prices in two consecutive tweets. In the first tweet she said, “PBMs are driving up prescription drug prices and putting local pharmacies out of business. Today, I introduced the bipartisan DRUG Act to rein in their abusive practices and fix misaligned incentives.”

Following this statement immediately after at 16:45 UTC as well, she elaborated on the legislative proposal stating that “Our bill requires PBMs to charge a flat fee, not a percentage of drug prices. This will lower costs for patients and protect independent pharmacies.”
